Armac Martin
Founded in 1929 in Birmingham, England, by Harold McGrail, the local brass founder began Armac by manufacturing reproduction furniture fittings. Through the years, Harold led the business through some of the most challenging times including WW2, right through until his retirement in 1988 when his son Bryan then took over to lead the company.
Bryan set about opening export markets for Armac and spent much of his time travelling all over the world from North America to Australia and New Zealand until his own retirement in the nineties. Almost thirty years on, we’re proud to still export to many of those distributors today.

Perrin & Rowe
Bob Perrin and Greg Rowe were two friends who shared a passion for making things. Fascinated by traditional manufacturing, they loved tinkering with mechanical objects and making them work better. So much so that they gained a reputation for helping local companies with engineering problems, or producing small production runs of hard-to-make components.
Forty years ago in East London, with limited funds and a factory that was little more than a garden shed, they began their partnership. Alongside a growing stream of projects from a wide range of different businesses, they worked on their own ideas and innovations.
The idea that made their name, and international reputation, was the world’s first 3 in 1 tap – a tap that dispensed hot, cold and filtered water – using a unique patented waterway.
Technology has always been at the heart of the company, but it’s Bob and Greg’s passion for traditional manufacturing craft that has defined the Perrin & Rowe brand. They believed, and we do today, that every product must be treated individually to ensure the highest possible quality. Mass production is not our business.
Bob and Greg’s innovations opened up new markets, and gradually a comprehensive range of kitchen and bathroom brassware was developed. They hired talented designers who established distinctive traditional and contemporary ranges. Sanitaryware was added, each piece handmade in a small factory in Staffordshire. Perrin & Rowe became known by architects and design professionals for its quality and durability, so started to appear in famous hotels such as the Savoy, the Langham and Claridges.
Today all the brassware is forged in the Black Country, the engine room of the industrial revolution, where heavy industry remains in the blood. Design, assembly and final quality checks take place at Perrin & Rowe’s main operation in Rainham, on the edge of East London. We continue to fire flawless sanitaryware in Tamworth in Staffordshire using skills that have been handed down through the generations.
Bob Perrin and Greg Rowe retired some years ago, but their legacy and passion live on at Perrin & Rowe. Their principles of small scale production – the better to deliver unrivalled quality – built on British design, engineering and manufacturing excellence, remain in place today. Now a global luxury brand, Perrin & Rowe still treasures its staff, supports its working families and concentrates on the perfection of each product it designs, makes and delivers.
Bora
Willi Bruckbauer is at the heart of BORA – the visionary, creative mind and driving force behind the groundbreaking cooktop extractor systems. With over 20 years of experience in the kitchen sector, the qualified master carpenter knows what people want from modern kitchens: to create a living space that meets the needs of the individual and makes them happy. Every day.
Extractor hoods are simply not part of this picture: they are loud, ineffective and visibly intrusive. They also restrict the possibilities when designing a kitchen. Willi Bruckbauer’s vision was to invent an effective vapour extraction system that meets the highest standards in terms of both technology and aesthetic appeal. Thanks to continuous experimentation and discovery, an innovative system was devised that draws off cooking vapours more effectively than ever before possible. The reward for our hard work: prestigious awards and accolades such as the ‘Deutscher Gründerpreis’ (German Entrepreneurs’ Award), ‘365 Orte im Land der Ideen’ (‘365 Places in the Land of Ideas’), red dot awards, Plus X Awards, German Design Awards, Iconic Award, German Brand Award, Good Design Awards, iF Design Awards and more.
Rangemaster
The original Rangemaster range cooker, called the Kitchener, invented in 1830 by William Flavel and built on the same site as their current factory in Royal Leamington Spa which revolutionised how people cooked, warmed, baked, roasted and boiled all from one heat source
The new ranges still share this original dedication to quality, design and innovation. Since that very first pioneering product, Rangemaster have been leading the way in creative cooker technology and performance.
Quooker
Quooker’s story started in 1970. Rotterdam-born Henri Peteri worked for Unilever and was visiting the head office in London when he had an idea that would change his life for ever. It was during a presentation about instant soup. They showed how you could dissolve soup in boiling water in just five seconds. ‘And to do that, you have to heat water for five minutes?’ Peteri thought. ‘That’s stupid! Why can’t we get boiling water from the mixer tap in our homes?!’ When he got home, Peteri went down into his basement to develop a prototype of the first boiling-water tap in the world. It took a lot of time and money. But when the first model was made, Peteri sold it to friends and acquaintances who were very enthusiastic. Once people had used a Quooker, they couldn’t live without it.
When his son Niels finished his studies and joined his father, the idea became a product. In 1992, the first Quooker (‘quick cooker’) was introduced, the Quooker Basic. From the moment son Walter joined the company, Quooker gradually began to gain ground on the market. From 2000, things really started to take off. The boiling-water tap became a success in the Netherlands. In 2004, the first batch of Quookers was exported abroad.
Now, Quooker produces 300.000 Quooker-systems a year, there are over thousands of dealers, the turnover doubles every three years and we have factories in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. This is the result of years of development, testing and technical innovation.
The Peteri brothers always aimed to produce the most sustainable, energy-efficient and high-quality product. Now they lead an internationally successful company. But, continuing in the spirit of their late father, they are still innovating.
Niels Peteri: ‘The fact that more people are embracing the Quooker as an indispensable tool in the modern kitchen is reflected in the sales, which are soaring. We’re very proud of that. However, resting on their laurels is not an option. We want to keep innovating. For example, by developing our own production resources, which enables us to think up original solutions.’
Quooker is about to conquer the rest of the world. The ambition: to supply as many private kitchens as possible with boiling water, in a smart and responsible way. To achieve that, Quooker in Ridderkerk, Holland, has more than 450 people working on new technical ideas and design solutions to make the taps even more efficient, even easier to use and even more attractive.
