A spacious kitchen diner could be the ideal place for a Christmas tree. The twinkling lights provide an enchanting backdrop to festive meals. Even if your main Christmas tree is in another part of the house, a small tabletop tree could be an option. A real Christmas tree comes with fresh pine aromas, but an artificial tree makes for easier post-holiday cleanup!
If Christmas kitchen accessories will be replacing some of the other items in your kitchen, we like to pack everything away back into the decoration boxes for the month.
Winter kitchen decor ideas
Cupboard knobs and hooks are perfect for hanging pine cones, mini wreaths and ornaments. You can also add little festive details in amongst the items on your open shelving as part of your winter kitchen decor. Don’t confine wreaths to your front door this year – they can look wonderful hanging from your kitchen door or even on the wall or cupboards. They also won’t have to brave the elements, so you can let your imagination run wild with elaborate designs. You might like to add a festive tea towel to the oven door handle, but be careful of hanging anything where it could be a fire hazard.
Hot chocolate stations are a huge trend for Christmas 2020, and one that we would love to see sticking around into the new year. We’re happy to sacrifice a little bit of kettle-adjacent counter space for luxury hot chocolate, mason jars filled with our favourite toppings, gingerbread men for dunking and candy cane stirrers. It’s also a great place to display your favourite festive mugs. Consider adding a large bowl of tangerines for a little bit of balance!
We like to go all out decorating the dining table for our Christmas dinner each year, but there are more subtle flourishes that can be added for the whole month. Added sprigs of evergreen foliage to the backs of your dining chairs, or perhaps opt for simple red ribbons. Battery-powered fairy lights tumbled into glass jars make a simple but beautiful centrepiece. Candles play a part in the winter celebrations of many religions, and simple white pillar candles look effortlessly elegant on the festive table.
If you’re on the nice list this year, and you’ve asked Father Christmas for a new kitchen, we’d love to help. We’re operating to the government’s latest COVID-19 guidelines and are able to schedule visits to our Buckingham kitchen showroom and offer our consultations online and over the phone.
